Frequently Asked Questions

It is most important that you retain your fingerprint receipt as a record of your fingerprinting. The TCN Number (or tracking number), located on your receipt and beginning with LS or CS, is an important reference number that is retained by the Illinois State Police as a record of your fingerprints. It is important that you follow up with your requesting agency or employer to make sure that the fingerprint response has been received within 15 days of your print date.
